Did Bryce Young and Will Anderson make a mistake while playing in the Sugar Bowl?

Alabama State quarterback Bryce Young and linebacker Will Anderson play in the Sugar Bowl. Is this wrong with an upcoming NFL Draft?

It’s not uncommon for aspiring NFL star players to sit out bowl games these days. So typical, in fact, that most people might have expected the likes of Bryce Young and Will Anderson to sit out Alabama’s appearance in the Sugar Bowl.

Between the disappointment of missing the College Football game and having a professional future on their mind, it was no surprise that the two superstars turned their focus to the NFL Draft.

Instead, they both say they plan to play in the bowl on New Year’s Eve. Is this the right call?

Will Bryce Young and Will Anderson Make a Sugar Bowl Mistake?

Surely this is the right decision because it was the players’ decision.

If they do calculus and decide that it is not in their best interest to play, this will also be the right decision.

In the end, their bodies are on the line. Whatever they choose is what suits them.

Yes, there are risks. But these risks come with playing soccer, whether in September or December. If the players wanted to accept these risks, then more power would give them.

The choice they made is a credit to the Alabama program and the competitive spirit built around head coach Nick Saban. Young and Will’s decision to play means that they care about the game, even if it’s not the game they want to be in.

The two set an example as the leaders the NFL should want, even if injury takes them back.
