The Chiefs clinched the AFC West with an overtime win over Texas, but another struggle fest highlighted some major concerns in Kansas City.

Kansas City had to call off a group, “PHEW,” as the Chiefs got away with a narrow lead against Texas.

It took overtime, as Frank Clark forced a huge fumble and Jerick McKinnon a 26-yard touchdown run to give the Chiefs a 30-24 victory over a team that had only won one game all season.

This is the second week in a row that KC has played disaster against one of the worst teams in the league. If the past week wasn’t a wake-up call, this one should be.

No. 3: Patrick Mahomes had to be perfect…against Texas

Chiefs fans have probably witnessed Patrick Mahomes’ best performance this season.

Mahomes completed 19 consecutive passes to finish the game, which Next Gen Stats indicated has a probability of 0.8%.

He only had five incomplete points per game, which is ridiculous for a quarterback who attempted 41 passes. He threw three touchdowns, including one rushing. He did not turn the ball over and finished with a quarterback rating of 117.1.

The problem is essential This performance to beat Houston. He needed to be perfect to beat 1-12-1 Texas.

Mahomes is capable of incredible things. There is no doubt about that. But when a team relies on magic like that from a quarterback in what should have been one of the most routine wins of the season, that’s a problem.
