Julian Edelman throws a Boston hat in disgust after the Patriots’ heavy loss (VIDEO)

Former New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman threw his hat in frustration after watching the team lose to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15.

The New England Patriots may not have gone 33-0 like the Indianapolis Colts did in Week 15, but they did suffer a huge loss. Facing the Las Vegas Raiders, the Patriots had the football with less than a minute remaining with the game tied at 24-24. But, running back Ramondry Stephenson, he turned the football back to wide receiver Jacoby Myers on the final play, who then attempted a lateral pass to quarterback Mack Jones. That throw was intercepted by Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones, who returned it for a touchdown.

Patriots fans were shocked, as were the team’s announcers. If you’re a Patriots fan who’s been curious, “What did former wide receiver Julian Edelman think of that play?” Well, here is your answer. He was upset enough to take off his Boston Red Sox hat and drop it to the ground.

Julian Edelman couldn’t believe the Patriots’ costly final play against the Raiders

“What the f*** are we doing? What are we doing,” Edelman asked.

As it turns out, the Patriots’ plan was to simply run a punt game to run out the time. Myers said so, telling the media that it was his decision to play football and that he was “trying to make a play”. Myers was very responsible after the game, promptly taking questions from members of the media after the hard-fought loss.

Stevenson also took responsibility after the matchsaying that he should not have given the ball back to Myers, and that he should have fallen back with the football instead.

Down 17-16 with less than four minutes remaining, the Patriots managed to take the lead on a 34-yard run by Stevenson. But, the Raiders managed to tie the game with just 32 seconds remaining on a 30-yard pass from Derek Carr to wide receiver Keelan Cole.

After that, the aforementioned final play of the game occurred. This knocked the Patriots out of the wild card spot and they would have to find a way to sneak into the playoffs. That could be tough, as they take on the Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills to close out the regular season.

For Patriots fans who were wondering what the team was thinking, Edelman was asking the same question.
