The Raiders stun Patriots, NFL fans with an unimaginable TD win

You’ll be hard pressed to find a more likely game to finish. You’ll also have to search long and hard to find a more devastatingly solid boomerang on the landing that wins the game.

Raiders fans were on the verge of evicting Josh McDaniels after watching their team blow another double-digit halftime lead. Las Vegas led 17-3 at halftime, then watched Kyle Dugger score on a six-goal drive, Nick Faulk kicked two field goals, and Stephenson kicked a 34-yard touchdown run to put New England ahead with just under four minutes to play.

That’s when Derek Carr came back to life. Driving the Raiders down the field, he hit Kellan Cole on a 30-yard touchdown pass with 32 seconds remaining.

The Patriots had 30 seconds or so to prevent overtime. They just chose to carry out this mission in the worst way possible.

The Raiders improved to 6-8 with the win, and avoided the ax hanging over the McDaniels for another week. The Patriots fell to 7-7 while giving the Dolphins some breathing room in the AFC playoff race.
