Explanation of the Packers path to the playoffs after the victory of the Rams

Wait, Can the Packers Actually Make the Postseason? For crazy enough, yes they can. Here’s how.

There likely won’t be a playoff game for the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field this season, but the fact that Green and Yellow made the postseason isn’t quite dead… yet.

Thanks to all the bullshit across the NFC, the Packers are hoping they’ll just refuse to die, despite heavy losses in recent weeks to the Lions, Titans and Eagles that felt like must-win games to keep the playoff dream alive.

Last night it could have been Reality nail in the coffin, well, barely. the Players’ playoff probability was at 6% FiveThirtyEight’s pre-game. A loss would have reduced their playoff chances to less than 1% (but not zero!). Instead, the win over the Rams jumped them to 8%.

The possibilities are still marginal at best, but they are there and increasing.

So, how do they make the playoffs?

Here’s how players can make the playoffs

Take a look at the updated match picture here. The Pack is one game worse than the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks. They will need to jump over them and another team to sneak up to the final match point.

The best chance to do this is to jump the Lions, Seahawks, and Commanders (7-6-1) or Giants (8-5-1).

The remaining matchups in Green Bay are against the Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, and Detroit Lions.

Detroit’s game numbers have to be winning because it’s basically a double play in the Packers’ playoff quest.

But even if the Packers win, they also need losses elsewhere. For reference, if the Packers win, their playoff chances are still only 69%.

If the Giants and Leaders both lose, the Packers will make the playoffs if they win. If the Giants and Chiefs each win one game remaining and the Packers win, their chances of making the playoffs are 88%.

If you want to see Green Bay in the playoffs, take on the Lions, Seahawks, Leaders and Giants. Oh, and don’t lose another game.

easy right?
