For the Raptors, Johnson may not be a game-changer but he has three-dimensional playoff value and deserves to be re-signed. They could explore trading Crowder to another contender and possibly adding another first-round pick, with the future top two added to their war chest, hopefully just far enough for them to fall out after the Suns squabbling window begins to close.

There are reports that things are rocky between Zach LaVine and the Bulls, but it would still be a massive pivot for them to trade a player they just signed on a super fast five-year deal. Additionally, LaVine could not actually be traded until January 15th because he was signed to Bird Rights.
But, if the Bulls decide they need to make a change, it’s a good comeback. They aren’t getting any future picks, but they are getting two quality wingers that will complement the rest of their current roster and might actually propel them back into the heat of the Eastern Conference playoff race. Anunoby will have value as a complementing builder alongside DeMar DeRozan and a huge defensive upgrade on the wing. Trent Jr. He is an excellent action shooter that can add more offensive value and keep the ground apart around Vucevic and DeRozan.
For the Raptors, a 27-year-old winger with a massive contract and in the middle of a downward year might not be what they’re looking for. But at his best, he’s a game-changer offensively and will be the kind of dynamic perimeter scorer needed. LaVine along with Siakam, Barnes and VanVleet could also get back in the midst of the playoffs race and make themselves competitive for the next year or two with a few off-season tweaks.
