Best landing picks at any time for Week 16

Jerick McKinnon – Kansas City Chiefs vs. Seattle Seahawks

I’ve gone back and forth this week about which Kansas City Chiefs running back I want to back down, but in the end I support Jerrick McKinnon, who has scored five goals in the team’s last three games.

McKinnon is an important receiving threat from KC’s backcourt (he’s conceded four goals over his last three games) and has had a favorable game on the ground here, giving Seattle 19 rushing touchdowns in the 2022 season.

McKinnon has double-digit touchdowns in three straight games, going from 10-13-18 in his final contest. I’ll be riding hot hand to find the end zone in week 16. – Peter Dewey

Sam Darnold – Carolina Panthers vs Detroit Lions

I’m already in the Panthers to beat the upset as a 3-point dog at home, so what’s the harm in backing Darnold as his best ever bet in a favorable match with odds close to 5/1?

The Lions allow the most rushing quarterbacks by far (539 to the Miami Dolphins’ 506 and the Philadelphia Eagles’ 368). They also allowed the second-most rushing offense to QBs (6) other than the Chicago Bears (8).

Today’s weather in Charlotte calls for temperatures in the high teens with winds of 10 to 12 mph. It’s by no means the worst weather forecast in the entire country, but it still makes for a pretty heavy game for Carolina if they don’t play from behind for the bulk of the action.

Isaiah Hodgins – New York Giants at Minnesota Vikings

Hodgins has been on the field more and more often, seeing at least 80% of the Giants’ shots over the past three weeks. He has scored at least four times in his last three games and scored a touchdown in the previous two games prior to last week.

The Giants face the lower half of the minor league in the Vikings, who are 22nd in Dropback/EPA. I expect the Giants passing game to work and I will support Hodgins to continue his good touchdown play. – Reid Wallach

Taysum Hill – New Orleans Saints at Cleveland Browns

Dennis Allen hasn’t been a good coach for much of 2022, but he’d have to be a total idiot for Taysom Hill not to play Andy Dalton for most of this game.

Nobody will be able to bowl in this weather, so Hill is much better than Dalton. The wind chill in Cleveland will be -11 and they expect winds of 40 mph. Honestly, Allen should have brought in the Army offensive coordinator this week and nailed the triple option.

The Browns are really bad at stopping the race and this game will be won for real. Hale is the Saints’ not-so-secret weapon. – Josh Urich
