Shannon Sharpe gets into a heated exchange with Skip Bayless over Damar Hamlin’s tweet (VIDEO)

Shannon Sharpe was infuriated after Skip Bayless interrupted his op-ed and refused to delete his tweet regarding Bills safety Damar Hamlin.

It was notable when NFL analyst Shannon Sharpe was absent from Tuesday’s episode of Fox Sports 1’s Undisputed. Wednesday wasn’t much better.

As the show began, Sharpe began talking about the horrific incident involving Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin W He brought up how the incident had shaken him The ordeal also reminded him of his brother Sterling, who suffered a neck injury that eventually ended his career.

“There was a lot of speculation as to why I wasn’t on the air yesterday and I’m not going to get into speculation and conjecture and insinuation, but I will say this: In watching that game on Monday night, what happened to Damar Hamlin struck me as a little different,” Sharpe said on the FS1 broadcast of the show. “As brothers in the NFL, when injuries happen, we know injuries are part of the game. I’ve seen guys with a torn ACL, torn Achilles tendon, but I’ve never seen anyone bounce back or have to fight for their life on the field.” So it hit me a little bit differently because I remembered seeing my brother[Sterling Sharpe]temporarily paralyzed on the field, and he was able to regain focus.

“Skip something, and though I disagreed with the tweet, and (hoped) Skip would delete it, I didn’t want to yesterday —”

That’s when the niceties ended. Baylis jumped in, refusing to delete the tweet, and instead standing by what was said. Sharpe was annoyed not only at the interruption but at the way it was said.

Shannon Sharpe gets mad at Skip Bellis being stubborn over Damar Hamlin’s tweet

Not only did Skip Bayless blatantly boycott Sharpe, he refused to delete the tweet and showed sympathy and remorse. It’s no wonder that Bayliss got traction on social media like he did when he first sent out his tweet.

Unfortunately, it is what it is, and it’s doubtful Bayless would ever force himself to delete a controversial tweet. Hopefully he and Sharp can get past this and find peace.

But this was a dreadful ordeal that Damar Hamelin was currently going through, and such a controversy should not arise. It’s TV, so it’s bound to happen.

Somewhere, those who watch the ratings do so with wide eyes.
