JuJu Smith-Schuster’s mother cast a shadow over the Pittsburgh Steelers for not wanting the wide receiver anymore.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have had some spin this season, replacing quarterback Ben Roethlisberger with Mitchell Trubesky. There was some loss in crime, as wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster signed a one-year, $10.75 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
On Instagram Live, Smith-Schuster’s mother posted a long message that cast a shadow on the Steelers, claiming that the two fought to stay in Pittsburgh, but the team didn’t want the wide receiver.

Last year Smith-Schuster hit unrestricted free agency and received interest from multiple teams, including the Chiefs. In the end, he decided to stay in Pittsburgh on a one-year, $8 million contract.
While Smith Schuster is back, his season is over. In the fifth week, Smith-Schuster suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery, and forced him to miss the rest of the regular season. However, he did return to the Pittsburgh playoff game against Kansas City.
Smith Schuster was selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft from Southern California. In his five years with the team, the wide receiver scored 323 receptions for 3,855 yards and 26 touchdowns.
Pittsburgh hasn’t lost just one free agency wide receiver. James Washington, a second-round pick in 2018, signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys.
Whatever the case, Smith-Schuster will have passes from the Mahomes, as the Chiefs look to return to the Super Bowl for the third time in four years.
