What must happen to Duke to play UNC in March Madness

How could Duke and UNC basketball meet at March Madness in 2022? The two competitors have their way to a delicious confrontation if they overcome the following obstacles.

The NCAA Championship has already used exciting surprises and amazing Cinderella stories.

Could March Madness do a better job and give fans a rivalry between the Blue Devils and UNC Tar Heels?

They are just a few steps away from coming face to face.

What must happen to Duke to play UNC in March Madness

Since Duke has already arrived through Texas Tech Thursday night, they are well ahead of the Tar Heels. All they have to do is beat No. 4 Arkansas on Saturday at Elite Eight.

Sure, that’s not a given, but it’s one of the easiest steps in this scenario.

UNC has a tougher job.

First, he should upset UCLA’s No. 4 Tar Heels in Friday’s Sweet 16 game. Bruins won’t go easy and that’s just one step up.

UNC will then have to face the winner of Friday’s match between No. 3 Bordeaux and No. 15 St Peter. It will take either another major disruption or the ending of everyone’s favorite 2022 story.

The Final Four berth for both Duke and UNC will result in a Final Four match between two of the game’s biggest rivals.

If the regular season game in Coach K Finals at Cameron Indoor Stadium was full of drama, can you imagine what an NCAA encounter with a place in the title game would look like on the line?

Incredibly, the two never met at March Madness. For what it’s worth, UNC won the only NIT match of 1971.

It’s time to add a post-season element to the competition.
