Historic cause Duke vs. UNC Final Four NCAA Basketball Media Lose Their Minds

The North Carolina Tar Heels have finished the Saint Peter’s Cinderella race, and are now set to face the Duke Blue Devils competitor in the Final Four.

The North Carolina Tar Heels, seeded eighth in the Eastern Conference, have not reached the Final Four since 2017, when they last won the National Championship. In Hubert Davis’ first season as Tar Heels coach, they head to New Orleans.

On Sunday, North Carolina defeated the No. 15 Peacock of Saint Peter 69-49 to advance to the Final Four. Now, The Tar Heels will meet the Duke Blue Devils in a massive rivalry match with a spot in the National Final at stake.

From the start of the game, the two tar heels were dominant, while the peacock was not. Writing appeared on the wall at the end of the first half, as North Carolina scored 38-19.

Young striker Armando Barcot made an unrealistic display against St. Peter, scoring 20 points (8 for 15 from the field) and collecting 22 rebounds. Senior striker Brady Manek scored 19 points on his own, making 4 of 6 shots from behind the three-point line.

This game between the Duke and North Carolina bears historical traces. Prior to the season, Mike Krzyzewski announced that he would retire as Duke’s coach at the end of the year. North Carolina State has a chance to be the team that ends Coach K.

Whoever wins between Tar Heels and the Blue Devils on April 2, will face either the Villanova Wildcats or the Kansas Jayhawks in the National Finals on April 4.
