Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf gave an update on their trade rumors.
As far as DK Metcalf knows, the talented Seattle Seahawks’ wide receiver isn’t going anywhere.
Metcalf is about to enter his fourth NFL season from the Ole Miss. A body sample and a very talented playmaker, there’s a chance that Seattle will make him available in the year of his contract, as the Seahawks are about to embark on rebuilding. Although it’s only speculation at this point, Metcalf responded to rumors surrounding his current presence on Monday afternoon.
Metcalf may want to terminate his junior contract, but one way or another, he’s about to get paid.
DK Metcalf Trade Rumors: Seattle Seahawks WR took up the rumors themselves
So far this season, Seattle has replaced former quarterback Russell Wilson for the Denver Broncos. The Seahawks recently cut their star player Bobby Wagner, only to sign big money with NFC rival West Los Angeles Rams. Although they don’t intend to trade Metcalf, all indications are that it may be dealt before the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft.
If Metcalfe is to stay in Seattle, he could see a drop in production with Drew Luke throwing the ball in for Wilson. This will make it difficult to slap him with the mark of privilege. Metcalf is a good wide receiver, but it doesn’t equal the average annual salary of the top five receivers in the game today…at least not yet. Seattle may covet compensation and sell high-end products on a large scale.
Ultimately, it serves Seattle and Metcalfe to be dealt with at draft time. This will allow Seattle to secure valuable compensation to speed up its rebuilding process, while at the same time getting Metcalf to his new team as quickly as possible so that he can adjust to another off-season program. Right now, Metcalf hadn’t heard a word about his possible trade.
Look for these rumors to pick up steam in the final stages of the overall draft process.
