Bellator featherweight Aaron Pico is enjoying the fruits of his labor after a dominant performance at the Bellator 277.
Bellator featherweight competitor Aaron Biko has had a slow start to his mixed martial arts career and is now approaching the top level for featherweights throughout the sport.
Arguably the most dominant win of his career in Bellator 277, Biko over Adly Edwards. Biko imposed his will from the first minutes of the fight, using his boxing technique to beat Edwards.
Biko could claim a title during the following fights after six straight victories at Bellator. During his Bellator 277 post-fight press conference, he explained the emotions after his recent success.
“Obviously, I want to fight the ranked players and make my way to become world champion,” said Pico. “Just keep getting better like me. I’m having a lot of fun, I enjoy training and it’s the best job I’ve ever had.”
Aaron Biko could be about to get the Bellator title
Entering the Bellator 277, Beko has secured the finishing touches in four of his previous five wins, including over Aiden Lee at the Bellator 260. After a whirlwind of hype early in Bellator’s tenure, he beat back-to-back losses to Adam Borrex and Henry Corrales to get back on track.
A former college wrestler, Biko has developed as a striker and has shown impressive rhythm on his feet.
The 25-year-old Pico possesses one of the most unique skill sets in MMA. While Bellator will likely make a trilogy between AJ McKee and Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire later this year, Pico could get a chance at Bellator Gold sooner rather than later.
Bellator 277: The AJ McKee vs Patricio Pitbull 2 game was played on Friday, April 15, 2022, live from the SAP Center in San Jose, California. Follow along with our onsite FanSided MMA for all the news and highlights.
