Amanda Lemos has the chance to gain more momentum and jump her way toward a potential title shot when she meets former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Jessica Andrade in the main event at UFC Vegas 52.
Lemos dropped her UFC debut to Leslie Smith in August 2017 and then was banned for two years from USADA after testing positive for stanozolol. But she came back vengeful at the end of 2019 and has won all five of her fights since then.
Following the introduction of Miranda Granger and a decision on Mizuki Inoue, Lemos’s 2021 TKOs saw Livia Renata Souza and Montserrat Ruiz before a massive victory in a separate decision over Angela Hill at UFC Vegas 45 in December.
This is Andrade’s first strawweight fight after fighting three consecutive strawweight fights. Her 125-year adventure saw her take a first-round shot from Catlin Chukagian to earn a shot at champion Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 261, which Andrade lost via a second-round TKO. Andrade recently scored a first-round TKO of Cynthia Calvillo at UFC 266.
Andrade had won the strawweight title after knocking out second-round Rose Namajunas at UFC 237, leaving the title to Weili Zhang in her first defense at UFC Shenzhen in late August 2019.
