Although the Kansas City Chiefs await their 2022 game schedule, they know who their opponents will be. Here are five matches the Chiefs must win.

The Kansas City Chiefs were close to reaching the Super Bowl for the third consecutive season last year. However, quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a costly interception in overtime from the AFC Championship game, allowing the Cincinnati Bengals to kick the game-winning field goal to seal their place in Super Bowl 56.

Kansas City will be looking forward to another chance to compete for the Lombardi Cup in 2022, even after they leave as wide receiver Terek Hill and safety Terran Mathieu. Just like the other 31 franchises in the NFL, the Chiefs are waiting to find out their appointed schedule for the 2022 season. However, they already know who their opponents will be.

5. Denver Broncos

Previously, The Chiefs had a huge hit against the Denver Broncos. In fact, they haven’t lost to Denver since the second week of the 2015 season. That was two years before Kansas City drafted Mahomes in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft!

However, this is not the same team the Broncos have struggled to find a midfielder to succeed Peyton Manning. Last year they tried to run a race with Teddy Bridgewater below center, but that didn’t work out. So this season, the Broncos launched a massive trade to acquire Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks.

Wilson is considered one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league, due to his ability to escape pressure and create plays. Not to mention, he’ll have some high-quality passing tools to target the pitch of Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and Tim Patrick.

Add Denver’s new offensive tackle with their offensive line coach Nathaniel Hackett and their superior defense, and they’ll be a tougher opponent for the Chiefs than in years past. Despite this, the two leaders should score a win over Denver.
