July was a busy month for the third Atlanta Braves businessman, Austin Riley, who broke records.
Austin Riley, the third baseman for the Atlanta Braves, tied and then surpassed the franchise record held by Hank Aaron by a double on Sunday afternoon.
Arizona Diamondbacks’ Riley doubled Meryl Kelly in the second half to equal the record for the number of extra key strokes in a month.
Riley capped that month by hitting a double to center field off Mark Melancon surpassing Aaron’s previous record, giving him an additional 26 base strokes for the month of July.

Braves MLB.com reporter Mark Bowman He said Riley ranks 1.344 OPS in July as the second highest score a Braves player can produce with 90 board appearances during any month. Chipper Jones earned 1,470 in July 1999, when he won the MVP award.
During July, Riley hit .298/.359/.599 with an OPS of 0.958, 29 doubles, triples and 29 home runs. Riley has 62 points and scored 67 RBI on the season. With two months remaining in the 2022 season, Riley is looking to add more to his totals and break even more records, making him capable of winning the NL MVP titles.
