Winners and losers when everything is said and done

MLB Trading Deadline 2022: Winners and Losers of This Year’s Deadline Madness

After the procedure took a while to start working, the gates blew up and transactions started coming one by one ever since.

Some of the biggest names in baseball are now changing their uniforms including Juan Soto, Tre Mancini, Tyler Mahley, Luis Castillo, Josh Hader, Wyatt Merfield, Noah Syndergaard, Razel Iglesias, Brandon Drury, David Peralta, Michael Vollmer, Harrison Bader and Khor Lopez, Jose. Quintana, Christian Vasquez and Frankie Montas.

Losing in the shuffle is the extraordinarily massive contract extension the Braves signed with Austin Riley as well as utility worker Jonathan Villar to find a new home in Seattle.

While a slew of big names were on the move at this year’s deadline, there were also some players who surprisingly stayed put when it was widely expected that they would already be on the move. This includes Wilson Contreras, David Bednar, Carlos Rodon, Ian Hap, Madison Baumgarner, Jordan Lyles, J.D. Martinez, Nate Evaldi, Michael A. Taylor, Scott Barlow, and Pablo Lopez to name a few.

With one of the craziest deadlines looming in recent memory, it’s time to take a (very) early look at some of the winners and losers once all is said and done.
