Padres GM issued an ultimatum to Fernando Tates Jr. after the PED was suspended.
AJ Preller, general manager at San Diego Padres, had some hard facts to tell Fernando Tates Jr. after he was flagged for PEDs on Friday.
He said: “I think we’re hopeful that out of the season so far, there will be some maturity.
“And obviously with the news today, it’s more of a pattern and something we should dig into a little bit more. I’m sure it’s very disappointing but at the end of the day, it’s good to say. You have to start showing it with your actions.”
But that wasn’t all he had to say about the comment Tates Jr. faced in 80 games.
AJ Preller had hope that Fernando Tates Jr. would show ‘maturity’
“I think what we need to get to is a point in time that we are confident in. … Over the past six or seven months, I think that’s something we haven’t really been able to achieve.”
Released by Tatis Jr. Bayan took responsibility for the slip but blamed it on ringworm medication.
“I’m totally broke,” he wrote. “There is no other place in the world I would rather be on the pitch to compete with my teammates. After initially appealing to suspension, I realized my mistake was the cause of this result, which is why I decided to start the commentary service immediately. I look forward to joining again To my teammates in 2023.”
