Broncos tab Anthony Harris as a potential replacement for Justin Simmons

All-Pro . Security Justin Simmons for a long time and needs to find a replacement for his services.

As such, they turned to Anthony Harris, a former Eagle safety and Vikings, who was signed to the Broncos coaching squad on Wednesday with the possibility of eventually being promoted to the 53-man roster.

This decision would be a good step in some areas because Harris has played safety before and was a quality starter in Philadelphia and Minnesota. Harris had his best season as a professional with the Vikings in 2019, collecting six interceptions.

The Broncos sign safety Anthony Harris

After the disaster in Seattle, along with the loss of Justin Simmons, hopes of a Super Bowl championship for the Denver Broncos took a slight turn. Moreover, they need help in all areas. That includes defense, which was among the best in the NFL last season despite the incompetence of the Denver offensive.

The huge investment in Russell Wilson was made due to incompetence at the quarterback position. Now, it’s up to him to put them on top and stand in place behind them. With Simmons out, there’s a gap in the back end that needs to be filled.

Denver hopes that Anthony Harris, with his experience and resume, can at least get in and not crash the car. All he has to do is not strip the gears and keep them under control until Simmons returns. There is a good side, and there is a bad side, and Denver hopes it will pay off.
