Ponies running back Nyheim Hines stumbled alarmingly after taking a big hit on Thursday night football. Indianapolis ruled him out for the rest of the game.
Thursday night soccer radio broadcasts are building a bad reputation for concussions.
Just two minutes into the match between the Colts and the Broncos, Naheim Haines hit the punch and immediately looked uneasy on his feet. In an image somewhat similar to what went wrong for Tua Tagovailoa, Hines faltered and had to be suspended by his teammates and coaches while he was being evaluated.
The big difference between Colts running back and Dolphins quarterback? The former was not allowed to return to play.
Nyheim Hines injury update: Colts back down on concussion protocol
Hines was officially excluded from the rest of the game and entered the NFL protocol for concussion, Per Adam Shifter.
Here is the blow that seemed to hit Hines as well as his stumble afterwards:
It’s terrifying to see a player like that. The NFL world can only hope that Hines are taken care of by medical professionals as carefully as possible.
The league certainly doesn’t want to face any more criticism over the implementation of the concussion protocol after two weeks of facing the heat over Tagovailoa’s handling.
Tagoviloa’s first apparent head injury, which the team claimed was a back problem, caused him to stumble like Heinz as the dolphins faced the crows two weeks earlier. He returned to play that game and then started for Miami against the Bengals last Thursday. Another blow to the head left Tagoviloa immobilized on a stretcher on his way to the hospital for further evaluation. Fortunately, he was released from care by the end of the night but remained on concussion protocol.
