The AP Top 25 poll gave us several winners and losers to discuss following the latest college football rankings.

Not all college football rankings are created the same way, but AP Top 25 Poll He remains sovereign until the College Football Playoff Selection Committee meets for the first time a few weeks from now.

We’re almost halfway through the 2022 college football season, if you can believe it! While there are plenty of undefeated teams across the country entering week seven, someone is going to lose next week for sure. That’s because No. 3 ranked Alabama will take on its cross-divisional rival in Tennessee State of No. 6 as the star game of the weekend’s roster. Of course, it’s not all about the Securities and Exchange Commission…

Here are the biggest winners and losers from the AP Top 25 poll that dropped Sunday afternoon.

College Football Rankings: Winners of the AP Top 25 Poll, Week 7

1

Georgia bulldog

SEC (6-0)

Georgia returned to being Georgia after crushing Auburn to regain top spot

This was exactly the kind of much-needed Dawg Nation game. The Georgia Bulldog hasn’t looked sharp in the past two weeks versus Kent State and Missouri State. While Auburn has no idea how to win in Athens, Georgia had to practice harshly on her cross-sectional competition. The explosive victory over the Tigers makes the Dawgs bowl eligible and sits atop the latest AP poll.

6

Tennessee Volunteers

SEC (5-0)

Tennessee is quickly emerging as the most dangerous team on Earth

Although they only played five games, Josh Heupel’s Tennessee Volunteers are on their way back. The Vols hit the LSU Tigers in Death Valley on Saturday afternoon. Their crime is balanced and dynamic. With Hendon Hooker playing as Heisman Trophy rival, who’s to say Rocky Top can’t win on the third Saturday in October?

Don’t look now, but Chip Kelly’s UCLA Bruins can totally win the Pac-12 race

What Chip Kelly did at the UCLA Bruins with Kyle Whittingham’s Utah Utes can’t be overstated. UCLA has a bad reputation for being soft. A Kelly worker is known for his football prowess, and you can understand why people fall short of UCLA. However, Utah has been the best program in the Pac-12 for several years now. UCLA 6-0 with all her wildest dreams come true. Genuine Bruins!

13

TCU horned frogs

big 12 (5-0)

Sonny Dykes dominates TCU’s Metroplex, about to take over Big 12

When Sonny Dykes went across town to TCU, we had a feeling he’d take the metroplex scheme from SMU and eventually make it work. Well Horned Frogs went to Lawrence and beat previously undefeated Kansas when ESPN GameDay College was in town. There is plenty of football left to play in the Big 12, but they are the favorites to meet Oklahoma State in Arlington.

While Georgia, Tennessee, UCLA and UCLA are winners this week, not everyone was so lucky…
