Auditor gift Alabama landing, TN screw with fake interference call

The Alabama Crimson Tide seemed to be pushing themselves out of touchdown range. Then, the referees handed them a new set of defeats after a controversial pass interference penalty.

One of the biggest games of week seven was between the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide and the No. 6 Tennessee Volunteer. Tennessee State gave itself a huge lead in the first half, but as we’ve learned in the past, you can never count on Alabama.

Pulling back 34-28, Alabama made its way to the scoring center. However, it seemed that they were destined to stall. They had to call a timeout, the relegation was eliminated due to the stoppage penalty, and they received a delay in the match. But facing a long third goal, an incomplete pass by quarterback Bryce Young was all-important.

Tennessee linebacker De’Shawn Rucker was called in to interfere in the end zone, giving Crimson Tide a fresh set of touchdowns on the yard line.

Alabama receives a gift from the referees in the form of a pass interference penalty

It was a very questionable call, considering Rucker’s back and forth was with Alabama wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks. The call ensued, with Crimson Tide taking a 35-34 lead one game later on a touchdown executed by Jahmyr Gibbs.

With that touchdown, it was the fifth consecutive Alabama offensive campaign that they put points on the board. This streak came to an end on the next drive, as they had to return the football to the Volunteers after three plays.

Oh, and after Crimson Tide shot the ball wide, the Volunteers took the 42-35 drive-thru right after on a 78-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Hendon Hooker to wide receiver Jalin Hyatt.

Regardless of the penalty, this will be one of the most exciting games of the college football season.
