The Yankees were knocked out by Oscar Gonzalez, and the Cleveland Guardians youth team was one win away from the ALCS.
Gonzalezthe same rookie who hit a home run against the Tampa Bay Rays to move to ALDS in the first place, and defeated the Yankees by one song in the middle in the ninth inning of Game 3.
The Guardians rally was thanks to some tragic management from Yankees manager Aaron Boone, who likely felt he couldn’t play Clay Holmes in two straight games due to injury. The guns New York went to simply failed, and Clark Schmidt was the last victim after a mid-turn change.
Gonzalez and Cleveland are the youngest team in baseball, and in some ways don’t know any better. At the moment, I worked for them.

With the loss, New York is now just another bad result away from elimination. Gerrit Cole will face shock on Sunday in the win or go home scenario. That’s why they pay him big, but at this point, Yankees fans can’t be too confident of Cole or their teammates, even against Cleveland.
