The 2022 NFL season is about to reach its ninth week, and here, we take a look at what the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft could look like when all is said and done.
As we pass the halfway point of the 2022 NFL season, teams are beginning to somehow distance themselves from the rest of the group. The first round of the 2023 NFL Draft got some change during the trade deadline as well, so the team’s needs have changed quite a bit since last week.
Here, we take a look at what the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft .2023 NFL Mock could look like.
NFL Mock Draft: A new successor to Tom Brady in Tampa Bay?
QB, Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions lost another game this weekend, falling to the Miami Dolphins despite showing very well in attack early on. This season, offense hasn’t been the issue, but with Jared Goff as quarterback, the Lions can’t afford to pass one of the best signal callers in this draft category.
The big talk Next year it will be between CJ Stroud and Bryce Young for the No. 1 pick, but we have Stroud beating Young here. Detroit could roll with Gauff again in 2023 and let Stroud learn the situation, which isn’t a bad problem.
QB, Houston Texas
Davis Mills is a very capable NFL quarterback, and in his last run, he tore through the Las Vegas Raiders defense for more than 300 yards. However, there is no way to pass Houston Texans Bryce Young to second overall, especially if he were to come out with a Heisman Cup win.
Young is the kind of player you can build your entire franchise around, and while Mills is strong, he’s not good enough for the Texans to do it with him. Young in second place makes a lot of sense, and if Stroud is the one to have here, then the choice should be.
