Matt Olson has become the king of the two trucks since joining his hometown of Atlanta Braves.
All Matt Olson has been doing is hitting doubles since he was traded to the Atlanta Braves last season.
The high school Lilburn native was recruited by Oakland Athletics in 2012. While he would have been Vanderbilt’s roommates with Marietta’s Dansby Swanson, how could anyone possibly overpay for first-round money? While Olson was certainly an excellent player during his first six years with Auckland, he is willing to put in massive numbers while playing offensively in his hometown.
Olson has already made the top 20 in MLB doubles this year in just 48 games played for Atlanta.
Matt Olson fits in perfectly with the Atlanta Braves with one double at a time
Atlanta isn’t a team above 0.500 yet, as the Braves are 23-25 heading into the Memorial Day game at the Arizona Diamondbacks. However, they are in the middle of an easy part of their schedule. The Braves have not played a team with a winning record since their May 18 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, and they may not face another team until hosting the San Francisco Giants on June 20.
What this means for Olson and the boys is that Atlanta should, in theory, be able to cash in on games that are worth a light month and take the reins of the NL East division race. It signifies that the brave will face poor competition most nights. Thus, Olson and his new Atlanta teammates should be able to play against teams with a low pitch.
before this season, Olson’s career best when it came to multipliers was 35. Although that’s a solid number, he’s poised to break that mark, assuming he stays healthy this season. My husband’s fifty is definitely within the realm of possibility for him. It would be a great personal feat to achieve, but it’s all about winning championships in Atlanta. Its value is undeniable at this point.
While he will be forever linked with Freddy Freeman, Olson is a perfect fit for the Atlanta roster.
