The Dallas Cowboys have a roster full of talent that would make them the NFC Super Bowl favorite, but one major flaw could hold them back.

The Dallas Cowboys got off to a rocky start. After playing poorly, and watching Dak Prescott struggle with injury, many believed that Team America would not even make it to the playoffs. But the Cooper Rush did what any backup could have, and now the Cowboys sit second in their division behind the 12-1 Philadelphia Eagles, with a major postseason vision.

But the Cowboys have their sights set beyond January. Not having been in an NFC Championship Game or Super Bowl since the 1995 season, Jerry Jones has grown more sympathetic than ever with his players and staff, looking for one last shot at postseason glory.

Currently, most sports books have the Cowboys as the third most likely team to win an NFC title, behind the San Francisco 49ers and rival Philadelphia Eagles. Here, however, are three reasons why the Cowboys can make it to the Super Bowl and win, plus one major mistake that could prevent them from making a deep playoff run.

Why the Cowboys Can Win the Super Bowl: Team Offense

At the beginning of the season, a lot of talk surrounded the loss of Amari Cooper and questions about whether the Cowboys had enough offensive weapons to pose a threat. While it was up and down at times, the Cowboys stepped up the offense, putting up 54 points on the Colts, 40 points on the Vikings, and 49 points over the Bears.

Although none of these teams have the most impressive defenses, it is still difficult to score more than 40 points in any NFL game. Duck and his buddies have been firing on all cylinders, but they’re not just doing it in the air. The Cowboys had one of the more balanced offensive styles, with Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard both approaching 1,000 yards for the season.

However, the main concern with their offense was consistency. But if the Cowboys offense can put up similar performances to the Colts and Vikings, it will be hard to stop them in the postseason.
